RI CI Styling Steps

Always apply your styling products immediately after the shower.
Once curly hair starts to dry without products, frizz begins to set in.

1Shampoo the roots of your hair first than while rinsing the hair work shampoo through the ends. Condition all of the hair thoroughly. Comb out all of the knots while conditioner is in the hair. When towel drying the hair, lightly squeeze out excess water.7After all the gel is applied turning the head from side to side, use a towel with open palms to gently lift the hair to set in the natural curl shape.
2Apply a dime size of Drench conditioner throughout the entire head using your fingers as a comb.8If diffusing, spray Memory styling spray throughout the entire head. When more curl is desired start diffusing immediately. If less curl is desired you can use a hood dryer and finish with a diffuser.
3First section starting from ear to ear, clipping the top of the hair up. Apply a quarter size amount of Thirsty gel in your hands working it through the hair evenly in a downward motion. Tightly grasping the hair with one hand coming in on the top and one from the side. Smoothing and separating the hair into small ribbon-like sections. Even distribution of gel ensures uniform curls without frizz.9If height is desired, it is recommended that you diffuse immediately while upside down. Clips can also be used for volume. Slightly open duck clips and slide along the scalp wherever height is needed. They are generally used with a hood dryer or air drying in conjunction with Memory spray.
4Second section at eye level, continue to apply the gel evenly throughout. Then smooth and separate the hair.10After the curls are completely dry take a pea sized amount of Smooth pomade. Distribute evenly through your hands than apply by gathering the hair into a ponytail squeezing continuously downward for shine and to break up any stiffness. It is important to touch the curls as little as possible when wet. Over manipulation of wet curls leads to frizz. Once curly hair is 100% dry you can manipulate your curls freely without frizz.
5Third section is at the recesses of the hairline leaving the crown of the head for last. Work through the section in the same manner as the previous sections.
6The top section is where you should be most meticulous. Instead of working in a downward motion, you bring the hair upward while smoothing and separating. Place the strands of curls in a criss cross pattern in the part.
